Health tips when traveling to Jamaica

If you need to bring prescribed medications while traveling to Jamaica please remember to bring them in their original containers and clearly labeled.  A letter from your physician describing your health condition and reason for the medication is also a good idea.  Your health insurance might not cover medical expenses while traveling to Jamaica but you can check in advance about travelers insurance in the US before arriving.  Vaccinations are not require to enter Jamaica, only if you have visited the following locations in the past 6 weeks:  Asia, Africa, South America, Dominican Republic, Haiti or Trinidad and Tobago.  Please check with your travel agent or The Jamaica Tourist Board before departure to see the current regulations.  We at Travel Around Jamaica look forward to you having not only a fun and exciting visit but also a healthy and safe one.  Please contact us at www.travelaroundjamaica.com for your ground transportation needs.

Recently we visited the Rosehall Great House again......which has been dubbed as one of the world's most scariest places.  Little did John Palmer know that his small, petite wife, Anne, possessed 'black magic'.  The grounds are still immaculately kept and the tour fascinating.  Not only did Anne kill more than two husbands but also lovers............a must visit on your next trip to Jamaica....unless of course you're too scared!!!!

Hi my traveling friends !

Jamaica is such a diverse island as we are really a melting pot of Africans, Europeans, Asians and Indians all mixed in an exciting diverse culture.  You can experience all these cultures by the foods, crafts, arts and traditions.  Did you know that neither the ackee or breadfruit was actually originated in Jamaica?  Take your vacation to another level in Jamaica and visit mountains, waterfalls, caves, coves, ride horses in the sea and swim with the dolphins.  Come on, we'll be waiting for your!!!!!

Hi all!!

The weather in Jamaica is just awesome!!!  Its just about 82 degrees.

A little history lesson today -

Christopher Columbus first documented his visit to Jamaica in 1494 and gives details of the island's beauty.  He literally described it as the fairest land his eyes has ever seen.  This beauty has not changed much over the years, it is still as extraordinary as before.  The good news is that it is much easier to get here, just about 3 hrs from JFK in the US and only a hour and a half from Miami!  When packing your bags don't forget your sun tan lotion, bathsuit and you should just be fine.  An 'irie' feeling will await you - oh, this means good, happy, fine.  See you then......

Jamaica - No Problem

The very first time I heard the quote, I thought to myself - 'Where in this world don't we have problems?'  I looked on how we communicated with each other, the laughs, the tears, the sadness and happiness.  One thing we all had in common - for the most part we genuinely loved each other.  Now I'm not talking about the crazy 2% but the the 98% of good, decent fun loving people.  Now I understand why year after year, Jamaica boast a visitor return rate higher than the average.
